Ch 4, sl st tog, ch 2. Row 1: 12 hdc in ring, sl st tog, ch 2. Row 2: 2 hdc in each hole around, sl st tog, ch 2. Row 3: *Hdc, 2 hdc in next st. Repeat form * around, sl st tog, ch 2. Row 4: *Hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st. Repeat from *around, sl st tog, ch 2. Row 5: *Hdc in next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st. Repeat from * around, sl st tog, ch 2. Row 6: In back loops only, hdc in each st around, sl st tog, ch 2. Row 7: In both loops, hdc in each st around, sl st tog, ch 2. Row 8-11: Repeat row 7. Row 12: Attach variegated yarn, hdc in each st around, sl st tog, ch 2. Row 13-17: Repeat Row 12. Row 18: *skip a st, hdc in next st. Repeat from * around, sl st tog, *ch 4, sc in next hole. Repeat from * around. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Take scrap of yarn and weave yarn in through the holes from row 18. Make a drawstring for the tote.
