Notes | I used JoAnn's brand Cello novelty yarn to fringe around the vest. Any novelty yarn would work. |
It's just using granny squares. I used 12 squares on the back, 1 on each shoulder top, 2 each side below the armpit, 10 on the front and used 2 triangles in the front. I did 3 rows of a granny square and weaved in all ends. Total granny square count was 30 squares and 2 triangles.
I sewed the granny squares together. Triangle: ch 6, slip st tog to make a ring, ch 3. Do 3 dc and ch 2 and 4 dc. Turn and slip st in between 1st and 2nd dc, ch 3 and do 3 dc more in same space. 3dc in the corner, ch 2 and 3 dc (corner made). 4dc in between 3rd and 4th dc of bottom row, turn and slip st in between 1st and 2nd dc, ch 3 and do 3 dc more in same space. 3dc in next space. 3dc in corner, ch 2, 3dc (corner made). 3dc in space and 4dc in between 3rd and 4th dc of bottom row. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
