Materials used	1 skein (3.5 oz) Bernat worsted weight Camouflage Pink yarn (Hard to find...found at Walmart when first hit the store)
Hook	H hook for younger children I hook for older children/adults

Ch 5, sl st tog to make a ring.

Round 1: Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2 in ring, *3 dc, ch 2. Repeat from * 2 more times, sl st tog at the top of ch3. (total of 4 groups of 3dc, ch 2)

Round 2: Sl st over 1 st, ch 3, 2 dc in same st, ch 1. 3 dc in ch 2 sp from previous row, ch1. 3dc into the middle of the 3dc group from the previous row, ch1.  3 dc in ch 2 sp from previous row, ch 1. 3dc into the middle of the 3dc group from the previous row, ch1. 3 dc in ch 2 sp from previous row, ch 1. 3dc into the middle of the 3dc group from the previous row, ch1. 3 dc in ch 2 sp from previous row, ch 1. Sl st tog to first ch 3. (8 groups of 3dc, ch1)

Round 3: Repeat Round 2. (16 groups of 3dc, ch1)

Round 4: Sl st over to ch 1 space from previous row, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp. *3 dc in next ch 1 space. Repeat around. Sl st tog.

Round 5: Repeat Round 4.

Round 6: Sl st to space between 3dc group of previous row, ch 3. Tr into center of 3dc group from the previous row, dc in same space as first ch 3. *In the next space between 3dc group, dc, tr, dc. Repeat from * around. (Each tr is going into the previous row's middle dc) Sl st tog.

Round 7: Repeat Round 4.

Round 8: Repeat Round 6.

Round 9: Repeat Round 4.

Round 10: Repeat Round 6.

Round 11: Repeat Round 4.

Round 12: Repeat Round 6.

Round 13: Repeat Round 4.

Round 14: Repeat Round 6.

Round 15: Repeat Round 4.

Round 16: Shell Edging: ch 1, sc in same st. *Skip 2 sts, 7dc in next st. Repeat from * around. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Special Flower

H hook

Round 1: Ch 4, sl st tog to form a ring.

Round 2: Ch 2, 11 dc in ring. Sl st tog.

Round 3: Ch 4, dc in same st. *Dc, ch 1, dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog.

Round 4: *Ch 6, sc in the ch 1 from Round 3. Repeat from * around. Fasten off and weave end to the middle.  Leave tail to sew the flower to the hat.

Center of flower:

Round 1: Ch 2, 11 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. Sl st tog.

Round 2: *Ch 6, sc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sew the center to the flower. Then sew all of the flower to the hat.  In the sample, I also sewed a tiny center in the center with pink part of the yarn.
